Expert guides and tips
Guide prices per pest, why mice and rats are a treatment plan, and who pays: tenant, landlord or the municipality.
A single mouse you can handle yourself. The honest dividing line per pest — and why poison and spray cans are the worst intermediate step.
Wasps in summer, mice in autumn: a handful of measures per season that stay ahead of an infestation — and the bill.
It depends on the pest: wasp nest removal costs € 75-150, mouse control € 150-350 per treatment plan, rat control € 200-450 per treatment plan, cockroach or bed bug treatment € 250-600 per treatment and woodworm or longhorn beetle € 200-750 including inspection. Mice and rats are deliberately a plan: control, proofing and follow-up visits — ask upfront exactly what the price includes.
For genuine emergencies — rats indoors, a wasp nest by the door or someone with a wasp allergy in the house — your request gets priority and a controller is often at your door the same day. For regular jobs, such as a woodworm inspection, professionals respond as soon as possible with a price indication.
Yes. Submitting a request costs nothing and commits you to nothing. You receive up to 3 responses from companies in your region and choose yourself — or choose no one, that's fine too. Prices and payment are arranged directly with the pest controller.
Yes. We verify Chamber of Commerce registration at onboarding and request proof of business liability insurance. Companies with recurring complaints are removed from the platform.
Anyone may use traps, and proofing — sealing gaps, clearing food — is even the best first step. Poison is different: rodent control with products is strictly regulated and reserved for certified companies; for private individuals it is largely no longer permitted. Affiliated controllers work by the applicable rules (IPM): proofing and prevention first, products only where needed.
Wasps are bright yellow-black with a smooth body; bees are browner and hairy. The difference matters: bees are not exterminated. If it is a bee colony, a controller refers you to a beekeeper who can relocate it. In doubt, attach a photo to your request.
The approach starts with proofing and prevention (IPM), not with products; where products are needed, the controller matches method and placement to the situation in your home. So always mention in your request whether there are children or pets, and follow the controller's instructions after the treatment — they will tell you exactly what is and isn't okay.
Because one visit rarely removes the population completely: rodents reproduce quickly and without proofing the next generation simply enters through the same gap. A plan combines control with sealing entry points and one or more follow-up visits — only when the traces stay away is the job truly done.
Many affiliated companies guarantee the plan: if the nuisance returns within the agreed period, they come back free of charge. The period and conditions differ per company and per pest — with bed bugs, for instance, your preparation is part of the agreement. Ask upfront exactly what the guarantee covers.
Dutch law (the decree on minor repairs) counts pest control as tenant maintenance, as long as no significant costs are involved and the infestation does not stem from the structural state of the home. If pests get in through holes, gaps or a defect in the building shell, the landlord is up. Always report the defect to your landlord in writing first.
Remove food and access: store supplies sealed, clear crumbs and pet food, don't scatter bird feed loose on the ground and put bin bags inside the container. Seal gaps and pipe runs — a mouse fits through an opening of less than a centimetre — and fit grilles on open crawl-space and façade vents. Do the proofing check before autumn: that's when rodents move indoors.
