Rat control (emergency)

Rats indoors are always urgent: they gnaw on pipes and insulation, contaminate supplies and a small problem grows fast. Affiliated controllers give such reports priority and start with the key question: where do they come from and where do they get in? Targeted control follows — and just as important, sealing the entry points.

Expect € 200 to € 450 per treatment plan, including follow-up visits. Rodent control with products is strictly regulated in the Netherlands and reserved for certified companies; affiliated controllers work by the applicable rules (IPM): proofing and prevention first, products only where needed. So do not go at it with poison yourself — it is off-limits and it masks the source.

What you can do while you wait: remove food sources. No loose bird feed on the ground, keep chicken and pet feed sealed, and put the bin bag in the container, not next to it. If you mainly see rats in the street or public greenery, also report it to the municipality — it is responsible for public spaces.
